BALTIMORE, MARYLAND – A mass casualty incident has been declared in Baltimore, Maryland, after a container ship collided with the city’s Francis Scott Key Bridge, causing a complete collapse. Emergency responders, including the Coast Guard and fire department, are on the scene.
Reports indicate that numerous vehicles and pedestrians may be in the water after the bridge collapsed. Half of the bridge is now submerged, indicating severe damage.
Officials confirmed that approximately 10 vehicles and a team of 7 construction workers were present when the devastating incident occurred. A massive rescue operation is currently in progress.
Vessel tracking data indicates that the container ship involved in the collision is the Dali, a ship operating out of Singapore.
