HERMANUS – Overstrand Municipality is pleased to announce the appointment of Seon Swartz as its new Director of Community Services. Swartz brings over three decades of experience in local government to his new role.
Before his appointment, Swartz served as the Director of Community Services at Breede Valley Municipality for six years. He also held positions in the municipalities of Stellenbosch, Langeberg, Bergrivier, and Breede Valley. His extensive background demonstrates a commitment to serving the diverse communities of South Africa.
Swartz possesses a strong academic background, including traffic-related qualifications and an honours degree in public administration from the University of South Africa (Unisa), obtained in 2007.
Now a permanent resident of Kleinmond, where he and his wife Dione have had a holiday home for the past five years, Swartz is deeply invested in the Overstrand community. The couple also has a son and grandchild.
“We are very pleased to have Seon on board and trust that the experience, skills, and competencies that he brings to the current management team will contribute towards establishing Overstrand Municipality as an ‘Overstrand for All’,” said Municipal Manager, Dean O’Neill.
