WESTERN CAPE – A large-scale search operation is underway to find missing 6-year-old Joshlin Smith, who was last seen on 19 February 2024 near the Diazville Clinic. Joshlin was reportedly with an unknown boy at the time of her disappearance.

Joshlin is described as wearing a light blue t-shirt and blue denim trousers. Anyone with information about her whereabouts is urged to contact Saldanha SAPS at 022 714 8333 or Missing Children South Africa at 072 647 7464.

According to a police statement, Joshlin was left in the care of her mother’s boyfriend on Monday while her mother, Kelly, was at work. Upon returning home, Kelly discovered her daughter missing. The mother’s boyfriend is unable to provide information on Joshlin’s whereabouts.

Saldanha SAPS investigating officer, Sgt Meyer Milstein, confirmed the search is ongoing and being assisted by the police’s Domestic Violence, Child Protection, and Sexual Offenses Unit along with patrol units. Community members have also joined the search effort.

Joshlin is a learner at Diazville Primary School in Saldanha.
