CAPE TOWN – Two stolen Toyota Fortuners have been recovered in separate operations by the Western Cape Police, along with the arrest of two suspects linked to the thefts. The successful recoveries highlight the effectiveness of police efforts to combat motor vehicle theft in the region.
The first stolen Fortuner was located in Bellville after police received a tip-off regarding its whereabouts. Officers tracked the vehicle and apprehended two male suspects, aged 27 and 31. In a separate incident, a second stolen Fortuner was found abandoned in Philippi-East following targeted patrols by the police. The seized vehicle is being processed by the Vehicle Crime Investigating Unit (VCIU).
While the names of the suspects have not been released, they remain in police custody as investigations continue.
