Mother, Son (10), and Pets Found Dead in Bergvliet Home

BERGVLIET, CAPE TOWN – Residents of Bergvliet were shocked to learn of a tragic discovery on Sunday morning. Police have confirmed that the bodies of a woman, a young boy, and several pets were found inside a residence on Main Road.

Kirstenhof police arrived at the home at approximately 11:00 on 18 February after receiving a report. Upon arrival, they made the devastating discovery of a middle-aged woman, a ten-year-old boy, and their pets lifeless. Paramedics were called to the scene but were unable to revive any of the victims.

Police spokesperson Wesley Twigg has stated that two inquest cases have been opened while the circumstances surrounding the deaths are investigated.

The identities of the deceased have not been released at this time. Residents expressed their shock and sadness at the news, describing Bergvliet as a quiet and close-knit community.
