Namibia Mourns the Passing of President Hage G. Geingob

In a solemn announcement, Acting President H.E. Dr. Nangolo Mbumba conveyed the heartbreaking news of the passing of Namibia’s President, Hage G. Geingob. The distinguished leader, revered for his role in the liberation struggle, constitution-building, and as a pillar of the Namibian nation, breathed his last at Lady Pohamba Hospital.

Dr. Geingob, surrounded by his devoted wife Madame Monica Geingos and children, succumbed to his medical condition despite the tireless efforts of the medical team. The nation plunged into sorrow, is urged to remain calm as the government orchestrates the necessary state arrangements and protocols.

The Acting President assured the public that the Cabinet would promptly convene to address the funeral preparations and other essential matters. Namibians are asked to keep the President’s bereaved family and the nation in their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Namibia mourns the loss of a visionary leader, a symbol of the nation’s history and progress. May the soul of Dr. Hage G. Geingob rest in eternal peace.
