Cape Town is set to embrace a vibrant and eventful February, capitalizing on the beautiful summer weather that graces the Mother City. The City of Cape Town is throwing its support behind an impressive lineup of 21 diverse events taking place throughout the month, showcasing the city’s prowess in sports, arts, entertainment, and business.

The festivities kick off with a bang as South Africa’s largest social sport and lifestyle event, the Cape Town 10s, gets underway on Friday, 2 February 2024. Over two action-packed days, the festival features six thrilling sporting codes, including rugby, netball, dodgeball, padel, water polo, and a charitable 5km run on Saturday morning. As the sun sets, the city will come alive with the beats of 15 live music acts across three stages, headlined by renowned artists such as Jack Parow, Spoegwolf, Fokofpolisiekar, and DJ PH.

Simultaneously, the KKKA Kaapse Klopse Competitions will take centre stage at Athlone Stadium on Saturday, 3 February. Cricket enthusiasts won’t be left out, as MI Cape Town battles it out against the Pretoria Capitals at Newlands, at 13:30, aiming to secure a spot in the Betway SA20 league playoffs.

City Hall will resonate with the sounds of the annual SA United Xmas Band Competition on Sunday, 4 February, showcasing the city’s rich musical heritage.

Mayoral Committee Member for Safety and Security, Alderman JP Smith, expressed enthusiasm about the bustling events calendar, saying, “Cape Town’s events calendar is picking up where it left off in January with yet another bumper month. Collectively, event organisers are expecting a turnout of well over 100,000, contributing significantly to the local economy and further establishing Cape Town as a premier event and tourism destination.”
